The Quantity Surveying and Australian construction industry farewell Paul McEvoy.
South African born and raised, Paul obtained his degree in Quantity Surveying in Johannesburg, then practiced in England and Wales before immigrating to Australia and commencing employment at Rawlinsons in 1963. A mere 7 years later, Paul became a Director, where he remained at the helm, running the company alongside many other Directors over an impressive 50 year period. The founder of the Rawlinsons Australian Construction Cost Handbook, now in its 40th year, Paul was well respected and renowned throughout the construction industry.
For all who were fortunate enough to have known and worked with Paul would describe him as brilliant, eccentric, stubborn, kind and a gentleman. A person with the highest standard of ethics.
Paul's contribution to the Australian construction industry is unsurpassed and he will be greatly missed as both a colleague and friend.
